Engine: 4 hp mariner Repair difficulty: lProfessional Repair time: 2 to 4 hours Repair symptoms: water leak at thermostat housing and broken gas shutoff valve remove power head drill out 6 broken bolts 2 on head plate water jacket and 4 on thermostat housing water to exhaust plates. replace gas valve, thermostat, power head gasket and thermostat housing gaskets.
Engine: Mariner 4 Repair difficulty: Easy Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: Head gasket and exhaust inner and outer gasket and thermostat Just take the bolts out and put them back in. Just be careful not to break the bolt off and if you do have to drill it out don't get off center like I did. It makes it a lot harder.
