Engine: Mercury 90 hp Shopping experience: The part was packaged and shipped quickly. Repair difficulty: Easy Repair time: Less than 30 mins Repair symptoms: Primer / starter plugs were hot (120 degrees) with the motor off and key out if ignition Traced the wires from the primer / starter plugs to the CDI box and found that there was a spike in the ignition system which caused the wires inside the CDI box to melt , as the back of the CDI unit was no longer smooth but was bumpy and followed along some of the wires
